Using the Datagator extension

How does the Datagator extension work?

The Datagator extension is straightforward to use. You can add the extension to your device by following this link, which takes just a few clicks. Next, the extension automatically detects websites that unlawfully track you while you browse. You can view which websites and trackers have tracked you in your tracker vault.

You then have the option to join claims related to privacy violations by tracking businesses that have affected you. Any compensation we might obtain on your behalf is shared, after deduction of expenses, equally between everyone that participates.

Weet Datagator welke websites ik bezoek?

Voor jouw privacy analyseert onze extensie je browsinggegevens uitsluitend (offline) op je apparaat. Dit doen we om vast te stellen of er een privacyinbreuk heeft plaatsgevonden.

Why does Datagator ask for permission to "read my browsing history”?

Datagator needs this permission to be able to analyse the pages you’re visiting, whether you have interacted with a consent banner and when a tracking business has been following you to see whether a privacy violation has occurred. This process takes place exclusively on your device, meaning no one at Datagator can access this data.

I already use an ad blocker. Can I still use Datagator?

Yes, you can use Datagator together with an ad blocker. However, web requests by trackers that have been blocked by other extensions are not detected by Datagator.

What browsers do you support?

We currently support Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Datagator also runs on other chromium-based browsers, such as Opera, Brave and Vivaldi, but is not optimized for them.
